Thrift Store Cashier/Sorter

The Sorter/Cashier helps keep our thrift store running smoothly by providing excellent customer service, operating the cash register, processing donations, sorting and pricing merchandise, and keeping the store and warehouse clean and organized. This position plays an important role in turning community donations into revenue that supports The Salvation Army’s local programs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Operate the cash register accurately, process payments, and assist with daily cash deposits.
• Provide friendly, professional customer and donor service.
• Receive donations, provide receipts, and assist donors with unloading items.
• Sort, price, stock, and restock merchandise.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store and warehouse.
• Handle customer questions and concerns professionally.
• Assist with loss prevention, safety, and protection of property.
• Follow store policies and maintain confidentiality.
• Attend staff meetings and stay informed of policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
