Alaska Takes Flight: The Future of Drone Technology at UAF

​Join us to learn how research and innovation happening right here in Fairbanks is helping shape the future of drone and counter-drone technology for Alaska and the nation.

Drone technology has become a major focus around the world, particularly as current conflicts in Ukraine and Iran continue to demonstrate both the opportunities and risks associated with unmanned aircraft systems.
Here in Interior Alaska, we are home to one of the world’s leading drone research programs: the Alaska Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Integration (ACUASI) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute.

At this Weekly Business Luncheon, ACUASI will share how its team is advancing the use of drones for missions that directly benefit Alaskans, including delivering medical supplies and cargo to remote communities, supporting search and rescue operations, assisting with wildfire response, and improving access to areas where traditional transportation can be difficult or costly.
The presentation will also explore ACUASI’s work in counter-drone technology and efforts to protect Alaska’s communities, critical infrastructure, and military and civilian assets from the misuse of unmanned aircraft.
